Dr. Conrad Maulfair, director of the Maulfair Medical Center in Topton, Pa., suggests that the reason Americans are turning to other forms of healing is twofold. “In general, Americans are becoming more distrustful of the medical establishment and are taking increasing responsibility for their own health. Specifically, they’re becoming less interested in treating symptoms of disease and more interested in treating the underlying causes. The availability of information on the Internet is increasing people’s awareness and encouraging them to explore all available options for wellness.”
The Health Plan Employer Data and Information Set (HEDIS) is a widely used set of performance measures in the managed care industry, developed and maintained by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. HEDIS was designed to allow consumers to compare health plan performance to other plans and to national or regional benchmarks. Although not originally intended for trending, HEDIS results are increasingly used to track year-to-year performance. HEDIS is one component of NCQA’s accreditation process, although some plans submit HEDIS data without seeking accreditation. An incentive for many health plans to collect HEDIS data is a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirement that Health maintenance organizations (HMOs) submit Medicare HEDIS data in order to provide HMO services for Medicare enrollees under a program called Medicare Advantage. HEDIS was first released in 1993 as HEDIS 2.0. The latest version, HEDIS 2007, reports on data through 2006 and comprises more than 60 measures.

In the Body Golf Executive Fitness for Golfers, there are many simple exercises or you can go to your local fitness club and a fitness trainer will help you get started. Yoga is another great type of exercise, that provides stretching and improves flexibility. You should talk to your doctor before starting any exercise program and do not overdo it in the beginning
